Washington Elementary School Magnet Students Take Flight with Project Lead The Way
Thanks to generous support from Boston Scientific, all SDC classes are now experiencing Project Lead the Way—using science to solve real-world environmental challenges. Now EVERY student at Washington Elementary School Magnet (Pasadena, CA) is part of Project Lead the Way ( https://www.facebook.com/pltworg)! In preparation for designing gliders to deliver aid after a storm, Ms. Trejo’s students built model airplanes, tested how far they could fly, and improved their designs based on the results. Learning, testing, and innovating every step of the way!
Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a nationally recognized STEM program that provides hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math, helping students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through engaging, real-world challenges like this glider project, students learn how to apply classroom concepts to meaningful situations. Programs like PLTW also inspire collaboration, creativity, and confidence, preparing students for future academic and career success.
