Foothills Dancemakers Unveil Spectacular Symphony of Movement in Pasadena Concert

Brace yourselves for a mesmerizing fusion of contemporary dance as Foothills Dancemakers, a dynamic consortium of modern dance companies nestled against the backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains, announces their third concert scheduled for February.

The joint presentation by Benita Bike’s DanceArt, Pennington Dance Group, Nancy Evans Dance Theatre, and Lineage Dance will be an evening of artistic brilliance on Saturday, Feb. 10, starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Lineage Performing Arts Center in Pasadena, followed by a matinee performance on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 4 p.m.

The brainchild of four seasoned directors – Benita Bike, John Pennington, Nancy Evans Doede, and Hilary Thomas – Foothills Dancemakers strives to elevate and spotlight concert modern dance in the foothills of the San Gabriel and San Fernando Valleys. With a collective experience of 150 years in producing dance, these visionary directors aim to foster a vibrant dance community and foster collaborative projects among local dancemakers.

Benita Bike’s DanceArt is marking its 43rd season, standing out as a chamber modern dance company renowned for its sophisticated concert dance work and expansive dance outreach initiatives.

Pennington Dance Group, a nonprofit organization established in 2000, finds its creative haven at A Room to Create (ARC) in Pasadena, dedicating itself to both performance and education.

Nancy Evans Dance Theatre, celebrating its 15th year in 2024, specializes in dance theater, featuring choreography by its nine-member company and director Nancy Evans Doede.

Meanwhile, Lineage Dance, commemorating its 25th anniversary this year, serves as the resident company at the Lineage Performing Arts Center, a nonprofit theater in Pasadena dedicated to fostering connections through the arts.

General admission tickets to the Foothills Dancemakers concert are $25, while students and seniors with valid IDs can enjoy discounted tickets at $20. The Lineage Performing Arts Center, located at 920 E Mountain Street in Pasadena, offers on-site parking for attendees.
