Give Back to the Community with Blair Rally Days from Lake Avenue Church

Published on Feb 7, 2021

Blair High School, along with many other schools in Pasadena, has struggled with the pandemic, and Lake Avenue Church is here to do something about it.

Starting on Sunday, February 7, Lake Avenue Church will be hosting its Blair Rally Days, where the public is encouraged to make donations for one full week.

These donations will go towards teacher grants that help build out the school’s IB (International Baccalaureate) program, buying classroom materials, and assisting the music program.

Lake Avenue Church Community Outreach said the community’s support this year will be even more purposeful and necessary. The official Blair Rally Days are between Sunday, February 7, and Sunday, February 14, 2021, but donations are being received starting today.

At Blair High School, principal David Ibarra said he hopes the partnership with Lake Avenue Church could continue because the need continues to grow.

“I wish we could do this in person, but due to COVID, we’ve had to do it virtually,” David Ibarra, Blair High School principal, said. “You can imagine the dramatic impact it had on my staff and the students – not being able to go to school, not being able to see their friends, not being able to see their teachers. It’s also impacted our teachers, our teachers not being able to see their students in person and kind of sit there and work one-on-one. It’s been a great challenge for us.”

Support will also go towards the school’s performing arts programs, sports and physical education, Junior ROTC, and their International Academy for students new to the United States.
