Aveson’s High School Externships Are Well Under Way

Aveson’s high school externships are well under way and the school is excited to have so many amazing mentors. Sam, Kira and Viv will be mentored by artist Margaret Leahy. Margaret is a professional doll designer by trade, as well as creating her own sculptures and varying art projects. She will be teaching the students the art of the human form through reading material, drawing, and other lessons that will guide them towards creating their own finished sculptures.

Margaret is the former Aveson parent of Graham and Fiona Leahy who are attending UC Santa Cruz and Cal State Monterey Bay respectively. She is an Altadena local and a staple in our Aveson community. Viv, Sam and Kira all come in with extensive creative background and they are collectively thrilled to further their understanding of creating art and how it can be applied to working in the industry one day.
