Mock Trial is a one-semester annual competition facilitated by the Constitutional Rights Foundation. Every year, students in La Salle’s Intro to Law elective class and the Mock Trial club prepare a case to litigate in a real courtroom, with real attorneys and judges.

This year, with everything being done via zoom, both the prosecution and the defense won their cases, which is no easy feat. The judges gave the students valuable feedback as to their performances and gave each individual a score. La Salle’s attorneys this year scored higher than in the previous three years, with Madison Cahill ’21 and Rhyen Hunt ’21 earning MVPs for their team.

This year’s attorneys were:
For the prosecution: Sophomores Chelsea Cheng and Matthew Toth, and Seniors Emilio Shutan and Madison Cahill.
For the Defense: Seniors Jack Skipper, Ryan Cargal, Jacob Hansen led the way, with Rhyen Hunt anchoring the team.

As each side won their respective cases, our attorneys performed outstandingly.

In addition to attorneys, other vital members of the team included the witnesses, including all-star performances by Junior Cameron Coolidge and Senior Harry Olivar .

As co-defendants, their acting skills shone, as they were required to play the role as two guilty parties each blaming the other.

Other witnesses included: Sophomore Darya Rytova , Juniors Aiden Hedman and Eamon Binns, each playing the role of Psychiatrists, as well as Seniors Milo Sariol, and Vivie Liang.

Aaron Lu and Tina Kehmini served in stylish fashion as our time-keeper and court bailiff, respectively.
