The Gooden School’s Book Fair at Vroman’s Bookstore

The Gooden School Students recently participated in a Book Fair hosted by Vroman’s Bookstore from the 4th of May to the 12th. There was no better way than a school book fair to promote literacy.

Vroman’s Bookstore, is southern California’s oldest and largest independent bookstore. Both Pasadena locations (695 E. Colorado Blvd. and 3729 E. Foothill Blvd.) participated in the school event. At both store locations, copies of summer reading lists for all classes where put on file, and many of the book titles were featured in a “Gooden School” book display. All students from kindergarten through eight grade have titles that have been selected by grade level teachers. For students from fourth grade through eighth grade, projects related to the summer reading lists were required. For every book purchased by friends and families of the school, Vroman’s donated part of the proceeds to the school’s library fund, which was used to purchase new library books.
